What to expect at your first visit

Initial consultation
During your visit, you’ll meet with our experienced team. We’ll take x-rays (if needed), conduct a visual exam, and review your medical and dental history. No drills or dental equipment—just a relaxed discussion to understand how we can help you.

Treatment plan
Next, you'll meet with your treatment coordinator to review our findings. We'll present a customized treatment plan to restore your health, function, and esthetics. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and leave feeling confident and fully informed every step of the way.

Pre-operative phase
Before treatment, we’ll collaborate with your medical providers to ensure you’re fit for the procedure. This may involve gathering medical records, EKGs, blood tests, chest X-rays, and other assessments to ensure your safety during your procedure at the Iconic Dental Surgical Center.

Schedule your treatment
Once everything is in place, we’ll schedule your procedure. At Iconic Dental, we aim to treat the whole mouth in as few visits as possible. Most patients require just one treatment, compared to the multiple visits at traditional dental offices or oral surgery centers.

Oral Sedation
Patients with mild anxiety are offered some combination of oral sedatives, nitrous oxide, and a local anesthesia. The local anesthesia numbs a particular area of the mouth, while the other methods induce a mild calming sensation.

IV Sedation
Intravenous (IV) sedation provides a fast-acting sedative through a vein in your arm. While you won’t remember the procedure afterward, you do remain awake and able to respond to commands. IV sedation is typically used during wisdom teeth extraction or while receiving a dental implant.

General Anesthesia
General anesthesia provides a completely unconscious experience for the patient. Some patients, due to medical or developmental issues, cannot tolerate any conscious dental work. When we use general anesthesia on our patients, we include a board-certified medical anesthesiologist for the duration of your treatment.

We are a family of “dental professionals” and I can say without reservation that Dr. Toal is a consummate professional. Dr. Toal’s practice treats many patients with underlying health conditions—patients that other dentists can not or will not treat. In addition to her expertise, Dr. Toal has heart. She cares about her patients, while striving for the best possible outcome. Dr. Toal listens attentively and crafts a treatment plan that at times can be both complicated and arduous. Like every other business sticking it out through Covid, Dr. Toal has had typical staffing challenges. But she has long time employees and associates who contribute to her success including her anesthesiologist who has worked by her side for over 20-years. I recommend Dr. Toal without reservation.
Dr. Toal is the best dentist anywhere. She works beautifully with patients with advanced & complicated needs. She uses the most advanced equipment and understands patients with dental fears. Her office is extremely clean and sanitized. She never will rush through procedures. Likewise, you never have to wait for your appointment. She doesn’t over book appointments.
She also assists with your vitamin and nutritional needs, knowing that those affect your dental and other health problems.
Simply said, she is the BEST and always keeps your best interest first.
